One of my newest breweriana pickups is a fantastic vintage photo featuring three men stoically enjoying a beer.
What immediately drew me to the piece was its authentic vintage feel. The presentation reflects a time when local breweries were at the center of American social life and neighborhood taverns served as gathering places for communities across Wisconsin.
Vintage beer advertising photos like this are special because they preserve more than just a brewery logo or product promotion. They capture an era.
I also quickly noticed the Storck Brewing Company label featuring the phrase “Slinger Brand” and the badge-design label dating to around 1905. I cannot definitively identify the bottle on the right side of the photo. While I have a few ideas, I have not fully verified it.
The outer frame includes the phrase “E.C. Fugate Hartford, Wis.” This likely identifies the photographer. The names of the three individuals are also written on the back of the photo.
