I recently added a remarkable piece of Wisconsin brewing history to my collection: a Storck Products Co. beer barrel from Slinger, Wisconsin, dating between 1933 and 1953.
Standing 16 inches tall with a 10.25-inch diameter, the barrel is in mint condition. The original stamping remains crisp, and the lettering is easy to read — a rare find for a piece of this age.
Storck used these barrels to transport beer during its post-Prohibition years. The craftsmanship and natural patina tell the story of a bygone era in Wisconsin’s small-town brewing scene.
Storck Products Co. operated in Slinger from the late 1800s until the early 1950s, producing beer that served the local community for decades. During prohibition, it changed from producing beer to making ice cream.
This barrel is more than a collectible. It’s a tangible connection to Wisconsin’s brewing heritage, a piece of history that still speaks to the care and tradition of a once-thriving local brewery.
